  • I have been dealing with sydmors for many years. I will say that the dedicated staff is amazing to work with they are always polite and help whenever they can as well as not afraid to carry a conversation with me. I would recommend if anyone needs to pawn or purchase anything this is the place to go.

Be sure to call and clarify what you'll be bringing in. I don't typically pawn things. I had done this once before a few months ago to have some extra traveling cash, and this would be my second time after encountering a large unexpected expense. I went to this shop because of the positive reviews left, but quickly found they are simply interested in stockpiling their very select categories of goods and charging exuberant interest rates. After bringing 2 rod&reel sets in, plus a watch of mine, I was hoping to get a loan of $40 to hold me over on gas until payday Friday. The one set was a LEWS Carbon Fire baitcast, the other an Abu Garcia Ambasseduer 5600sx, and the watch was a Skagen Mens Holst. The LEWS set was brand new and the other two are less than a year old, all in good shape. These items retail new for over $400 and are all new models which could never be described as "dated". After explaining my situation to the woman who approached me she proclaimed "Well we normally don't take fishing stuff and the watch is cool but it has to be gold". This was while I stared at 3-4 poorly done stuffed fish hanging throughout their store, including one small tarpon that I could not figure why anyone would stuff. After pleading that I was basically handing them free money as I would be back Friday morning to pick up the items, the woman stated that she could had to check something. This is when I watched her walk back to the owner who promptly turned her around. She stated the $15-$20 they could offer me would be an insult, which it was, but unfortunately I did not have many options as I simply needed money for gas to get to work. I reluctantly accepted the offer, and was even more frustrated when watching this associate key in my items. They have a store program where they log the items taken in. This program reads to them the maximum value the associate can offer for the item. As I watch this woman key in my items, I see a price of $58 for both rod sets come up as well as a price of $40 for the watch if I saw the last number correctly. Rather than even adjusting these figures to the $40 value which is clearly a good deal according to their store program, this woman adjusts the loan value to be paid down to $20 for all 3 items. And if youre wondering how I was able to see this info its because her eyes werent very good and I actually had to point out 2 items on the screen for her. On top of all of this nonsense, I finally get the interest rate of my loan. My first pawn was an interest rate of around 130% I believe. This one? 432%.... They not only adjusted the value that their system outlined as available, they also racked up the interest on the $20 loan they gave me. Bottom line, these people might not be bad people, but they sure as hell aren't in the business of providing loans, or looking to help anyone out. I'll definitely shop around online before wasting the last bit of gas to drive 30 min hoping to get a 10% loan...

  • I love this place!! I wouldn't trust anyone else with things. They have always gone above and beyond to help me out and are always willing to work with me when I'm running late or low with funds. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for fair prices or just good, honest, and friendly people to work with. If I could rate the staff, I would give them a 10 out of 10!
